Just dropping in to let you cool cats know that the next podcast will record on Sunday the 31st of August. Be there or be square. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be on the brand new 40th episode spectacular of Gentlemen Discussing Vidya, which will be a triumphant return to our regular style of podcasting, and will include family feud, catsman’s conundrum and the next chapter of the fanfiction epic ‘Harry Potter Becomes a Communist’ being read live-but-from-a-prerecorded-file-so-not-really-live. Also we’ll probably talk about some indie game developer drama or moan about reboots or some shit idk whatever.
The next book club game is the original Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden (in anticipation of the soon-to-be-finished sequel). However, game discussion might be pushed to next podcast, as the previous podcast isn’t out yet, and so listeners might not know to play it. However, we have just had 3 book club episodes in a big ‘ole row, so I don’t particularly see a problem with skipping a book club for one episode.

Gentlemen Discussing Mother 3 is the second in a series of 3 podcasts dedicated to analysis, opinions and trivia on the video game Mother 3. Warning: may contain facts, lies and coarse language.
Mother 3, the long-awaited sequel to the cult RPG Earthbound, was released for the GBA in 2006 and translated 2 years later by a dedicated group of fans. The game holds a special place in our hearts because of its unique, cliche-defying approach to the RPG genre.
This podcast covers chapters 4-6 of Mother 3, and contains extremely heavy spoilers (for those chapters only). It is intended for people who have already finished those chapters. If you haven’t played up to the end of chapter 6, then procure a ROM, get the translation patch, get an emulator, and play along with us! You won’t regeret it!

I’m thinking of streaming around evening/night (7pm – midnightish) GMT Time WHEN MAIN GLA CHANNEL IS DED and shows no signs of anyone streaming. If you REALLY want to see a particular movie on the list at a certain time please please tell me. when main stream is ded, but tell me if you have any problems with the timing for anything, or if you want to add a movie to the list. Try to keep the movies under 2 hours in length though. Love Exposure gets a free pass because Everdarke assures me it is really good, and will be streamed on a friday. The Abyss got a pass because I didn’t know, but it wasn’t a very good movie anyway.
Hopefully my display drivers will not crash, as I have reinstalled some nvidia drivers, but heres hoping.

Living in Europe? Twitch got you down? Or do you just hate flash? Well you’re in luck because it is time for you to be introduced to the glory of livestreamer!
What is it?
Livestreamer is a Command Line Interface that pipes video streams from various services into a video player, such as VLC. The main purpose of Livestreamer is to allow the user to avoid buggy and CPU heavy flash plugins but still be able to enjoy various streamed content.
Why Livestreamer?
Its no secret that Twitch prioritizes streams that usually start with R and end with iotgames which leaves us lower end (and frankly much better) streams to not get as much bandwidth as we would like, this problem (especially in europe) ends with a laggy and unwatchable stream. You can also use it to get rid of the awful awful awful memory leech known as flash out of your way. You can also use it to bypass pay quality for instance the evo stream where you had to pay for source.
This makes my dick hard, how do i use it?
Its simple really! You just head over here and hit the huge green button where it says “install here.” When all is done you pull up the command prompt (just hit start and then enter cmd in the search field) and for our glorious stream you enter the following: livestreamer twitch.tv/thecatsman (qaulity)
The twitch url and quality part may be changed depending on if you would ever want to watch another stream or we get enough viewers to actually change the quality. In any case it should look a little something like this
Just hit enter and viola you are watching Mao being shit at video games!
